SACRED GEOMETRY - VENUS, THE ROSE & THE GOLDEN RATIO
The symbolism of planet Venus - the Morning Star - has long been associated with the rose.
But Venus and rose also have an association with five-fold and ten-fold geometric symmetry which derive from the Golden Ratio.
The pentagon and pentagram star characterise the growth patterns of roses but also the movement of planet Venus in relation to planet Earth.
This 2 day practical drawing course will focus upon these Golden Ratio patterns as well as their symbolic meanings with a particular focus upon geometric patterns from Islamic and Christian art.
Tom will teach a practical drawing session on sacred geometry, accompanied by a slide presentation. This session will guide you through simple pattern-making on paper using compasses and straight edge. There will be a philosophical approach with a contemplative emphasis.
We will be together in a small group amongst the original studio contents of late Master Sacred Geometer and Professor Keith Critchlow.
This course is for all levels, no previous experience is necessary.
Be ready to delve in and see your world change by embodying the subtle energies by learning some of the key philosophical meanings and underpinnings of how Sacred Geometry shows up in the world around us, how it relates to us and learning to drawing key Geometric Patterns that relate to Venus, the Rose and Golden Ratio.
